Cycling Weekly tested six lightweight bike locks and named the OnGuard RockSolid 8590 Best Lightweight Lock Overall and the Pitbull Mini 8006 Best Budget Lightweight Lock. Three grinder discs “hardly left a mark” on the RockSolid, and both locks carry a Sold Secure Diamond rating.

BLACK X is the first residential smart lock system to achieve certification under both relevant Sold Secure standards, recognising its advanced mechanical and digital security.

The RockSolid 8590 survived both bolt-cutter and angle-grinder attacks. It wore down the grinder disc within 30 seconds, with minimal damage to the lock.
